A short, honest account of what this site collects. There is no account system, no login, and nothing you type into a calculator ever leaves your browser.
What the calculators do with your numbers
Nothing leaves your browser. Every calculator on this site runs entirely on your own device. The figures you type are not sent anywhere, not stored, and not logged. If you close the tab they are gone.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and which links they click. It sets cookies and collects the usual things: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived. We use it in aggregate to decide what to write next. Google own privacy practices are set out in their policies, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with their browser add-on.
Affiliate links
Product links on this site go to Amazon and carry a tag identifying us as the referrer. When you follow one, Amazon knows you arrived from here and sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We receive aggregate reporting about clicks and orders. We do not receive your name, your address or your payment details, and we never see what else you bought.
Forms
Two forms exist on this site and they go to different places. The contact and partner forms deliver your message to our inbox through a third party form service, and we keep what you send only as long as it takes to answer it. The email list form sends your address to a Google Form, which accumulates it in a spreadsheet we control, so we can send you the rigging shopping list and tell you once if the printable kit exists.
We do not sell, rent or share email addresses. Every email carries a way to leave, and leaving is immediate.
Cookies
The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and, once you click through, from Amazon. We do not set cookies of our own, and there is nothing to log into. Your browser settings can block or clear all of them, and the site works fine without them.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. In practice the only thing we are likely to hold is an email address on a list. Ask and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the bottom of this page changes with it. Continued use of AnglerTechCalc after a change means you accept the updated policy.
